The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania Website
The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania had multiple, disparate web properties highlighting different aspects of their fundraising efforts. MARC USA developed a strategy to integrate the multiple web properties into one cohesive online experience.
The major goal of the website was to explain Who We Are, Who We Help and Why You Care. These were the goals that fueled our user-centered design principles for the site. The secondary goal was to increase donations and volunteerism, as well as create an optimized experience for millennials. Our user-centered design, cross-team collaborative process and easy-to-update CMS platform (WordPress) were the centerpieces of our approach. MARC USA integrated with multiple third party platforms such as SalesForce CRM and Donately, an online donation and crowd funding tool.
The site currently serves as the main portal for all donations and communications for the United Way. As a result of our training, the United Way is now able to handle almost all content updates in-house, saving this non-profit organization money by eliminating the need for additional outsourcing.
